Prefabricated Steel Building RFQ Checklist: Drawings and Project Inputs
A prefabricated steel building quotation depends on project-specific information rather than a universal building specification. Start with the intended use, overall dimensions, destination, available drawings, local design requirements, roof and wall needs, quantity and schedule information available to the buyer. Clear inputs help the team review scope and identify questions that must be resolved before quotation.
This checklist supports inquiry preparation only. It does not provide engineering calculations or promise wind, seismic, fire, snow or load performance. Those requirements must be confirmed for the project by the responsible engineering parties and applicable local requirements.
Prefabricated steel building RFQ checklist
Prepare as many of the following items as possible:
- intended building use;
- project location and destination country;
- overall building length, width and height, with units;
- number of floors, if relevant and confirmed;
- layout plan, structural drawing or available sketch;
- drawing status: available, in preparation, not available or not sure;
- local design criteria and project requirements supplied by the responsible project team;
- preferred roof and wall requirements;
- openings, access or internal-layout information shown in the project documents;
- requested quantity or number of building sets, if decided;
- required quality checks and documents;
- packing, handling and dispatch requirements known at inquiry stage;
- target schedule for planning context, without assuming a delivery commitment.
What each input helps clarify
Building use
Describe whether the planned building is a factory, warehouse, workshop, commercial facility or another confirmed use. The current Prefabricated Steel Building Product is positioned for industrial and commercial project inquiries. The intended use provides context but does not replace project engineering.
Overall dimensions
Provide the available overall length, width and height, and state the unit. If the project documents use several building zones or elevations, attach the layout rather than combining them into a single approximate dimension. Number of floors may also be supplied when relevant.
Project location and destination
State the project location and destination country. These are needed to discuss project and supply requirements. Location alone is not enough to establish structural criteria, shipping time or applicable standards, so include the requirements issued for the project when available.
Drawings and layout information
Indicate whether drawings are available, unavailable, in preparation or uncertain. Useful files may include a layout plan, elevation, section, material list or marked sketch. The current website form does not upload files directly; after submitting, drawings or material lists may be shared through the available email or WhatsApp contact route.
Local design requirements
Send the design criteria and applicable destination-market requirements confirmed by the project team. If wind, snow, seismic, fire or load conditions apply, provide the project’s approved inputs rather than asking the website guide to determine them. Final performance depends on project-specific engineering, approved drawings, material selection and detailing.
Roof and wall requirements
Describe the preferred roof and wall system only when it has been confirmed, or state the functional requirement for discussion. The Product page presents coordinated structural, roofing and cladding requirements as a project-specific supply context. It does not establish one envelope solution for every building.
Quantity and schedule
Enter the required quantity or select “Not decided.” If a target schedule exists, provide it as planning information. A requested date is not a confirmed manufacturing or delivery commitment; quotation review must address the actual scope first.
Inspection and documentation
List required checks and documents with the inquiry. The Quality Control page describes current material, dimensional and packaging-check activities. Do not assume that a certificate, standard or document applies unless its scope and holder are confirmed.
Packing and dispatch
Explain known handling, packing or destination requirements. The Supply Chain page describes order preparation, packaging support, logistics coordination and container-loading support. Final arrangements depend on the confirmed building scope, materials, quantity and destination.
If you do not know all the project information
Begin with the building use, approximate dimensions if available, location, drawing status and the project notes you already have. Mark unknown items as “Not sure” or leave optional fields blank. Do not copy design criteria, material specifications or performance values from another project. The team can identify missing quotation inputs, but the responsible project parties must confirm engineering requirements.

Buyer questions
Can I send an inquiry before drawings are complete?
Yes. State that drawings are in preparation and provide the project information currently available. Additional detail may be required before quotation.
Are approximate dimensions acceptable for an initial inquiry?
They can provide early context when clearly labelled as approximate. Confirmed dimensions and drawings should be supplied when available.
Does the Product page guarantee wind, seismic, fire or load performance?
No. Performance requirements must be established through project-specific engineering, applicable local requirements and approved drawings.
Can several material requirements be included in one RFQ?
Yes. The Multi-Material RFQ keeps each selected material, specification, quantity and unit as a separate item for review.
