Coated Steel Coil RFQ Checklist: Color, Finish and Processing Requirements

A coated steel coil inquiry is easier to review when it explains both the material you need and the product you plan to make. Share what you know; specifications and availability are confirmed during quotation. For the product family, see our PPGI / PPGL Coils Collection.

Eight details to include in your RFQ

  1. Product type. Select PPGI or PPGL if your specification identifies it. The RFQ also offers Custom and Not sure.
  2. Grade or substrate. Copy any requirement from your drawing or purchasing document. If it has not been decided, leave it for discussion.
  3. Thickness and width. Give each required dimension with its unit, or attach the relevant drawing or written specification.
  4. Color and finish. Share a color reference, sample or description of the appearance you need. List different colors separately.
  5. Coating requirement. State any coating requirement supplied by your project or downstream processor; otherwise leave this optional field blank.
  6. Processing and end use. Explain whether the coil is intended for roofing, wall cladding or another building-material process, and note any forming or cutting requirements you already have.
  7. Coil weight and handling notes. Add a coil-weight value and unit only if specified. Put packing or handling instructions in the additional requirements.
  8. Quantity and destination. Enter a quantity and unit for each material if known, or select Not decided. Include the delivery destination.

What if some details are not decided?

You can still send the inquiry. Use Not sure where offered, leave optional fields blank and describe the intended application or available drawing. If colors, dimensions or product types differ, add separate material items so each keeps its own specifications and quantity.

The Manufacturing page gives process context, and Quality Control describes inspection activities. When you are ready, send your coated coil requirements through the RFQ form.

Buyer questions

Must I choose PPGI or PPGL before sending an RFQ?

No. Select Not sure if the product type has not been confirmed, and share the end use and any existing specification.

Is a color name enough?

A documented color reference or sample is more helpful when available. You can also describe the required appearance.

What if colors or dimensions have different quantities?

Add separate material items, each with its own specifications and quantity. Use Not decided if a quantity is not yet known.

Can I leave grade or coating blank?

Yes. Both are optional RFQ inputs. Share only requirements that have been confirmed for your inquiry.
